Pine, spruce and fir trees grow quickly and are a well-established crop in Europe and the UK.
Some of our furniture is even made of Devon-grown Douglas Fir, though most comes from sustainable forests in Sweden.
In each case we always try to source our wood from forests that plant two trees for every one chopped down
If you choose teak or another tropical hardwood, it's very hard to be really sure that you aren't buying wood that has come from the destruction of rainforest and other valuable environments.
